Dr. Kim (Reckelhoff) Gunderson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Indiana University in 1997 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2001. She practiced for five years with a multi-specialty optometry/ophthalmology practice in Southern Illinois. In 2006 she moved from Marion, Illinois, to her home town of Jasper with her husband and business partner, Dr. Todd, and their children. It was then that they opened Gunderson Eyecare in Jasper.
Dr. Kim has served as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners of Optometry which grades the competence of those optometrists wishing to become certified to practice optometry in the United States. She feels “It both a privilege and a joy to serve and raise our family within the community, friends, and neighbors where I was raised.” Dr. Kim currently serves on the board of directors for the Dubois County Community Foundation, is a member of the Jasper Lions Club, is a coach for an elementary level Destination Imagination Team for the fourth year, is the Immediate Past President of Ireland Elementary PTO, and a past board member for the Jasper Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
